WEDDING CHECKLIST:
Making a wedding checklist is beneficial in helping you stay on track throughout
the planning process. This checklist is compiled of personal elements as well as from Pinterest.
Below is my checklist to use as an example, but feel free to add, omit, or do your own research!
12 (+) Months Before
- Create a budget
- Decide on wedding date and time, start making a guest list
- Look into ceremony and reception venues
- Take engagement photos
- Choose wedding party
12-9 Months Before
- Research vendors
- Purchase wedding dress and shoes
- Meet with venue(s)
- Officially announce wedding party
- Reserve hotal block for out-of-town guests
9-6 Months Before
- Finalize guest list
- Start planning honeymoon
- Order bridesmaid's dresses
- Send out save the dates
- Hire Photographer/Videographer
6-4 Months Before
- Food tasting for reception
- Book rehearsal dinner venue
- Cake tasting
- Purchase groom's wedding band
- Shop for men's attire
3 Months Before
- Finalize flower selections
- Order guest favors
- Meet with officiant
- Send out invitations
- Get Groom's attire
2 Months Before
- Have dress fitting
- Review playlist with DJ
- Do hair and makeup trial run
- Write vows
- Write and send thank you cards from bridal shower
1 Months Before
- Check in with vendors
- Obtain marriage license
- Send out rehearsal dinner invites/details
- Purchase guest book, card collection box, etc.
- Plan reception seating chart
2 Weeks Before
- Check RSVPs
- Deliver final playlist to DJ
- Bride: get hair cut
- Bride and groom emergency kits for day of
- Groom haircut
1 Week Before
- Send final guest list to venue(s) and caterer
- Pack for honeymoon
- Check in with venue manager for last minute run through
- Groom: final fitting
- Check in with groomsmen to confirm they have all their attire
2-3 Days Before
- Check in with vendors
- Get wedding dress pressed and steamed (if needed)
- BM check in with groomsmen to confirm all their attire
- Determine wedding party positions for the ceremony
- Get manicure and pedicure
Day-of Wedding
- Drop off decorations at reception venue (if making own)
- Place cards, table cards, menuts, favors, centerpieces, etc.
- Present parents, wedding party, and each other with gifts
- Give wedding bands to MOH and BM
- Introduce venue manager to someone in case of any problems
Post Wedding
- Write thank you cards
- Take care of any duplicated/unwanted gifts
- Preserve dress (optional)
- Follow up with videographer and photographer
- Get name changed
